Why Therapy for Postpartum Depression Matters
This isn't a character failure
Postpartum depression is common and treatable. It says nothing about whether you love your baby or can be a good mother.
Say the unsayable
Many mothers have thoughts they're terrified to admit. A psychologist has heard them and won't judge or report you for having them.
More than baby blues
Baby blues lift in a fortnight. If it hasn't, that's a different thing and it needs support, not waiting.
Work on the bond
Difficulty feeling connected to your baby is one of the most distressing parts, and it responds to support.
Bring your partner in
Partners often want to help and don't know how. Therapy can include them.
Get some sleep back
Sleep and mood feed each other. Practical work on rest is part of treatment, not separate from it.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
Working on the thoughts that drive guilt, inadequacy and anxiety about the baby.
Well evidenced for postpartum depression and practical from the first session.
Interpersonal Therapy (IPT)
Focused on the role change, and on relationships that have shifted since the birth.
Strong evidence in the postpartum period specifically.
Supportive Counselling
A regular space to talk without an agenda, particularly where isolation is the main issue.
Sometimes what's needed is being heard by someone who isn't asking anything of you.
Couples Work

Often makes a bigger difference than either partner expects.

Frequently Asked Questions
The questions people ask before they book. If yours isn't here, ask us.
What is postpartum depression counselling?
Support with a psychologist for low mood, anxiety or difficulty bonding after having a baby.
How is this different from baby blues?
Baby blues usually pass within two weeks. If low mood, anxiety or difficulty bonding have continued beyond that, it's worth talking to someone.
I've had thoughts about harming my baby. Am I in trouble for saying that?
No. Intrusive thoughts like this are far more common than people know and are not the same as wanting to act. Telling a psychologist is the right thing to do.
How many sessions will I need?
It varies. Some people find a handful of sessions enough; others work over several months. Your psychologist will talk it through after the first session rather than committing you to a package upfront.
How much is a session, and how do I pay?
Each psychologist sets their own fee and session length — you'll see theirs on their booking page before confirming. Sessions start from PKR 1,499. Payment is online, by card, Easypaisa or JazzCash.
Can I choose my psychologist?
Yes. Browse the profiles, read how each one works, and book whoever feels right. If it isn't the right fit, you can switch.
Is what I share confidential?
Yes. Sessions are private between you and your psychologist. The limited exceptions — where there's a risk to your safety or someone else's — are the same ones that apply to therapy anywhere.
