PTSD Therapy in Pakistan
PTSD is what happens when a traumatic event stays present — in flashbacks, in nightmares, in a body that never quite stands down. It isn't a failure to move on. It's a normal response to something abnormal, and there are treatments built specifically for it.

Why Therapy for PTSD Matters
Stability before memory
Good PTSD treatment builds grounding and coping first. The difficult material comes later, when you're ready.
Make sense of the symptoms
Flashbacks and hypervigilance are your nervous system doing its job too well. Understanding that reduces the fear of your own reactions.
Reduce the charge
Trauma memories can be processed so they become memories rather than something you relive.
Sleep again
Nightmares and broken sleep are among the most exhausting parts. Specific techniques target them.
Stop avoiding your own life
PTSD narrows what you'll do and where you'll go. Therapy works on widening that again.
Set down the guilt
Survivor guilt and self-blame are extremely common and rarely accurate. They can be worked on directly.

How it works
Making Mental Wellness Easy

Types of Therapy for PTSD

Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR)
Processing the memory while following a repeated eye movement.
Recommended by the WHO for PTSD, and it needs less verbal detail than other approaches.
Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT)
Structured work on the beliefs trauma left behind — about safety, trust and blame.
Twelve sessions, clearly staged, well researched.
Prolonged Exposure
Revisiting the memory repeatedly in a controlled way until it loses its intensity.
Demanding, and among the most effective treatments there is.
Trauma-Focused CBT
Combining memory work with practical coping skills.
Often the starting point, particularly with younger clients.

look at the minds we’ve brought into the light!

S., 22 Lahore
Walking into class or speaking up used to make my heart race and mind go blank. Reading Braindost’s blog, I realized it was social anxiety. Therapy felt like a hopeful step. It helped me speak up and finally feel like myself around others.

M., 26 · Islamabad
Growing up around constant shouting, I learned to stay quiet. Even now, loud voices make my chest tighten. Through therapy with Braindost, I realized it was childhood PTSD. Now I’m slowly finding peace.

H. & F., 34 · Lahore
Small issues grew into long silences. We drifted apart and felt lonely even together. Couples therapy at Braindost helped us open up, listen without defense, and slowly reconnect—building empathy, understanding, and hope again.
FAQs
Frequently Asked Questions
The questions people ask before they book. If yours isn't here, ask us.
What is PTSD therapy?
Structured treatment to reduce flashbacks, nightmares and hypervigilance after a traumatic event, at a pace you control.
Do I have to relive it?
Not in the way people fear. EMDR in particular needs very little verbal detail, and every approach moves at your pace.
What if the trauma happened years ago?
PTSD doesn't fade with time on its own. People treat it decades later and still improve.
How many sessions will I need?
It varies. Some people find a handful of sessions enough; others work over several months. Your psychologist will talk it through after the first session rather than committing you to a package upfront.
How much is a session, and how do I pay?
Each psychologist sets their own fee and session length — you'll see theirs on their booking page before confirming. Sessions start from PKR 1,499. Payment is online, by card, Easypaisa or JazzCash.
Can I choose my psychologist?
Yes. Browse the profiles, read how each one works, and book whoever feels right. If it isn't the right fit, you can switch.
Is what I share confidential?
Yes. Sessions are private between you and your psychologist. The limited exceptions — where there's a risk to your safety or someone else's — are the same ones that apply to therapy anywhere.
